This update has been prepared following the Prime Minister’s televised address to the nation, yesterday evening at 20:30.

The new guidance says that people should only leave their homes for one of four reasons:
​
- Shopping for basic necessities such as food and medicine. Shopping trips should be as infrequent as possible.
- One form of exercise a day, such as a run, walk or cycle. This should be done alone, or only with people you live with.
- Any medical need, or to provide care or to help a vulnerable person. This includes moving children under the age of 18 between their parents’ homes, where applicable. Key workers or those with children identified as vulnerable can continue to take their children to school.
- Travelling to and from work, but only where work absolutely cannot be done from home.

We have now successfully facilitated working from home for the vast majority of our HQ colleagues and they are online and collaborating to continue to deliver our services. Our HQ building will be manned by a very small team carrying out essential functions and observing all recommended social distancing measures, in addition to observing all personal procedures for self-protection.

Where possible, we will maintain site staff attendance, albeit this is proving to be difficult in certain areas because of travel restrictions and reduced public transport services.
​
With cooperation, communication and mutual respect, we can all play our part in helping to beat this serious threat to our nation. It is vital that we are disciplined in following guidelines and observing restrictions.
